Palestine Will Only be Saved by Jihad

Praise be to Allah (SWT) and blessings on Prophet Muhammad (SAW)

Prepare against them what you can of power and cavalry to deter Allah’s enemies and your enemies as well as other enemies unknown to you but known to Allah. Whatever you spend in the cause of Allah will be paid to you in full and you will not be wronged.  [Al Anfal, 8:60]

Last Friday, the International Union of Muslim Scholars published a fatwa exhorting capable Muslims to engage into jihad against Israel due to its atrocities committed in Gaza. This has brought a welcome drive to the Palestinians’ fight against Zionists. The Union has stated that all Muslim states have the legal duty to intervene militarily, economically and politically to stop the genocide and impose the blockade on Israel, in its legal opinion statement.

This fatwa has come as a liberation for the Arab people, who, since, have not stopped showing their support for their respective armed forces in the streets. In the face of such resistance, heads of state, despots and dictators should think about their betrayal of the Ummah.

As for the bootlickers, those who take orders from despots, and who are not afraid of Allah’s (SWT) wrath, like Egypt’s Grand Mufti, have been quick to condemn the International Union of Muslim Scholars, instead of the atrocities committed by Israel against Palestinians, saying that the Union does not have the legitimacy to emit such a fatwa.

We can also question the legitimacy of the Grand Mufti, who, while benefiting from the favours of the state in his air-conditioned office, has stated that no one can emit such a fatwa on such sensitive matters. According to him, such a fatwa can only be emitted by a legal authority, meaning the treacherous state of Egypt, who since long, has betrayed the Ummah, by adhering to the infamous Abraham Accords. It needs to be noted that this very Mufti, has supported Sissi’s coup to overthrow the elected government of Muhamad Morsi, as chosen by the people, together with his Salafist accomplice.

Supported by 14 of the most renowned scholars, the International Union of Muslim Scholars has come at a time where the Ummah had begun to despair from the torpor of its scholars and also of the support of Israel by Muslim states.

On the authority of Abu Huraira, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has said: “Verily, the leader is only a shield behind whom they fight, and he protects them.”

The scholars do concede that it is essential, vital even, to have a head of the Ummah, a Caliph, who would issue the word to engage in jihad. In the absence of an Amir ul Jihad, a head of the Ummah, who could order the expulsion of Zionists from Islamic territory, as ordered by the Qur’an, the Ummah cannot but appreciate the scholars’ initiative, who have undoubtedly, send the word on the light of the Qur’an and the Sunnah. This courageous initiative is a stark contrast to the attitude of the bootlickers and their supporters who shake hands with the Zionist snake.

Those who believed, emigrated, and strived with their wealth and lives in the cause of Allah, as well as those who gave them shelter and help—they are truly guardians of one another […] [An Anfal, 8:72]

As a critical thinker, the Muslim, political or military strategist, has no other choice but to call for resistance or retaliation, in proportion to the enemy. This course of action is only logical. The world is now aware that Zionists, are, as defined by international conventions, no less than war criminals, with hearts of stone.

According to political analysts, Zionists attack Gaza indiscriminately and violently, because they are violent. Zionists are rebels against Allah (SWT), which explains their abnormal level of cruelty, barbarity and savage nature.

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has said that

the one who gives a hand size of Islam’s territory, will be punished accordingly by Allah in Hell

In the face of such barbarity, isn’t it the right reaction from the Ummah to heed to Allah’s call?

O believers! Respond to Allah and His Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. And know that Allah stands between a person and their heart, and that to Him you will all be gathered. [Al Anfal, 8:24]

The presence of Israel is a cancer in the hearts of Muslims and should be eradicated by Allah’s (SWT) solution: jihad. The principle of the Shari’ah, which states that what is necessary to carry out a duty (wajib) ia duty in itself (wajib), is noteworthy here.

The concept of jihad is one that has been the most demonised, vilified to the point where colonial powers have made Muslims falsely believe that jihad meant holy war and that it was a threat to humanity, with the support of despots and dictators who impose their authority on Muslims. Jihad has often been insidiously associated with terrorism.

Palestinians do not need the permission of despots to engage into jihad against those who have occupied their lands, pillaged their resources and persecuted them for the past 75 years. They know that it is fard ain (an individual obligation) to defend the Muslim territory and fend off aggression against Muslims.

In Fiqh us Zakaat, Yusuf Qaradawi says that the most honourable jihad is the fight for the liberation of Muslim lands from the domination of unbelievers, irrespective of their religion or ideology. Independent scholars know that jihad is mandatory in the face of oppression, and barbaric cruelty of Zionists. Moreover, according to ijma (consensus), it is a grave sin to ignore the call of our brothers when they are asking for help.

To come back to the concept of jihad, it is said in the Qur’an and in the biography of the Porphet Muhammad (SAW), that the believer engages in jihad.

As for those who struggle in Our cause, We will surely guide them along Our Way. And Allah is certainly with the good-doers. [Al Ankabut, 29:69]

According to Al Alusi, this verse refers to the fight for Allah’s pleasure, whether military or other. Muslims have however, disregarded this concept of jihad. We have forgotten that to be a Muslim means to engage in jihad, in a serious fight to understand our relationship with Allah (SWT) and what it entails.

It is certain that Allah (SWT) is shifting the power dynamics.

Say, “O Allah! Lord over all authorities! You give authority to whoever You please and remove it from who You please; You honour whoever You please and disgrace who You please—all good is in Your Hands. Surely You are Most Capable of everything. [Ali’ Imran, 3:26]

It is hight time that the Ummah started thinking globally to define his honour and his role as global leader.
