*Praise be to Allah (swt) and Blessings on Prophet Muhammad (SAW)*

> Exceptionally exalted is He who advanced His subject [Muhammad] on a night journey from al-Masjid al-Haram [the Inviolate Masjid in Makkah] to al-Masjid al-Aqsa [the Distant Masjid in al-Quds, also called Jerusalem] — an area blessed by Us so that We may show him [Muhammad] demonstrations of Our [extraordinary] power. Certainly, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing. *[Al Isra, 17:1]*

This Friday 13th March marks 13 days since Masjid Al Aqsa is in captivity, barricaded, without any action from the *Ummah*. 13 days since access to the sacred mosque is prohibited to Muslims, 13 days since the Zionists have given themselves the right to violate the sanctity of the *waqf,* thus violating the international convention under which Al Aqsa is managed by Jordan. And, shamefully, Friday marks 13 days since Zionist Arabs, engulfed in the Abrahamic Accords, and who have discharged the *jizyah* towards the Epstein gang, are watching the violation of Al Aqsa, as mere paralysed spectators.

In the context of Al Quds Day, observed on the last Friday of Ramadan each year, and in memory of victims of Israeli persecutions and attacks, who have been attacked for praying in Al Aqsa Mosque, it is important for Muslims to become aware of the duty to preserve the Al Aqsa sanctuary. The importance of the *Ummah*’s mobilisation to protect Al Aqsa Mosque has become even more important with the destruction of Palestinians homes in the West Bank, on one hand, and the volatile and unpredictable geopolitical situation caused by the Israeli military attack against Iran.

Jews are prohibited to enter the Al Aqsa complex because of its sacred nature, Al Aqsa being the name of the whole compound, including, two sacred sites for Muslims: the Dome of the Rock, known for its golden dome and the Al Aqsa Mosque, where Prophet Muhammad (SAW) performed the Ascension. But Zionists can do anything, knowing that Arab leaders, including the custodian of the Waqf, King Abdallah of Jordan, have kowtowed in front of them. It is just regrettable that 2 billion Muslims around the world can do nothing about Zionists’ tentacles.

Let’s not forget that the people of Gaza have paid a heavy price for Al Aqsa. They have been martyred, wounded, amputated, lost their properties, the list is long. Without their resistance, Al Aqsa would have been destroyed. Palestinians are conscious of that: they no longer trust Arab leaders for they are not part of the solution. In fact, they are part of the problem, being complicit to the ongoing genocide in Gaza, despite the ceasefire, which is just a farce.

Al Aqsa Mosque has a spiritual dimension for the *Ummah*, given that it is from that sacred mosque that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) performed the Ascension, the Mi’raj. Al Aqsa and Haram are the only ones mentioned in the Qur’an.

**Al Aqsa Belongs to the Ummah**

Al Aqsa is not a Palestinian mosque, and even less, an Arab one. Its mention in the Qur’an makes it a mosque for the *Ummah*. Al Aqsa is everyone’s concern and is waiting for the *Ummah* for liberation.

More than loving Al Aqsa due to its sacred nature, it is imperative to demand the revision of the convention which gives Jordan the custodian of Al Aqsa. The *Ummah* has a duty to wake up. If we lose Al Aqsa, Allah (SWT) forbid, it will be desolation for the *Ummah*. The transfer of Israel’s capital to Jerusalem already sent alarm bells ringing concerning the colonising goals of Zionists.

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has said:

"Whoever usurps even a handspan of land (that belongs to others), it will be placed around his neck as a collar from the seven earths on the Day of Resurrection."

**What can we do?**

Allah (SWT) orders us:

> Hence, make ready against them [the mush-rik enemies] whatever force and [impressive] war mounts you are able to muster, so that you might deter thereby the enemies of Allah, who are your enemies as well, and others besides them of whom you may be unaware, [but] of whom Allah is aware; and whatever you may expend in Allah’s cause shall be repaid to you in full, and you shall not be wronged. *[Al Anfal, 8:60]*

Israel’s presence is a cancer in the heart of Muslims and should be eradicated by the solution prescribed by Allah (SWT), that is Jihad. We should also recall the Shari’ah principle according to which, what’s necessary to accomplish a duty (wajib) is a duty in itself (wajib).

In his *Fiqh uz Zakaat*, Yusuf Qaradawi states that the most honourable form of jihad is the fight for the liberation of Muslim lands from the domination of miscreants, irrespective of their religion or ideology.

Certainly, Al Aqsa is in danger, more than ever.

The *Ummah* seems to have weakened in the trust in Allah (SWT), having been influenced by narratives peddled by Arab chiefs and the lies of the Western media. We have a duty to act according to our means and resources. Allah (SWT) has not burdened us with the saving of Palestine. Allah (SWT) has asked us to continue our efforts and remain mobilised, and He (SWT) will reward every effort we make.

We need to remain mobilised to weaken the Israeli economy: let’s not doubt the efficacy of the boycott. The boycott movement is not merely a resistance tool, it is a moral imperative and the most powerful form of structural popular resistance in the world. Boycott is not only economic, it is the Israeli fear of this movement that testifies to its efficacy.

Let’s not fall into the trap of forgetfulness. Our conviction as Muslims demands that we do not fall into the trap of forgetfulness.

> And the deniers planned and schemed [against ‘Isa], but Allah had His plan: for Allah is the best of planners. *[Ali ‘Imran, 3:54]*

**Witnesses for Humanity**

have the duty to fulfil our role as *Khairah Ummah*, the best community, to invite towards goodness and forbid what’s wrong, to denounce the atrocities of Israel’s apartheid. This implies that we should imperatively be present in the media space. Let’s exploit smartphone algorithms, for our Cause, to control the narrative in favour of Islam and the *Ummah*. Let’s live up to our role as *Shuhadah alan Naas*, witnesses for humanity.

> And thus have We willed you to be a central Ummah, so that [with your lifetime experienc- es and assumption of the responsibilities of all prophets] you become attestants to other peo- ples, and the Apostle becomes a witness over you. […] *[Al Baqara, 2:143]*

And we should renew our conviction in Allah’s (SWT) promise, when He says.

> […] and never will Allah allow those who deny the truth to break through the committed muslims. *[An Nisa, 4:141]*

May Allah (SWT) help and guide us.
